The Certificate in Teaching English to Young Learners and Teenagers (TEYLT) is specifically targeted for those who are interested in teaching young learners (aged 4 to 11) and teenagers (aged 12+). This 10-unit course will give you insight into how children learn language, as a mother tongue and English as second language. You will discover new ideas for activities for both young learners - aged 4 to 11 and teenagers -aged 12+.

This 10 unit course focuses on speech, language units and writing skills which form the basic theoretical framework for TEYLT practice. The TEYLT Certificate is suitable for preschool teachers, kindergarten teachers, primary school teachers and tutors. Students have the flexibility to follow the course on-site as a Part Time student or via Distance Learning. It is possible to work at your own pace and control the completion and submission of assignments leading to the Certificate

This course adheres to the international curriculum requirements for TEYLT Certification. The TEYLT programme offered by LTTC is recognized by IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language), the TEFL Board and IATQI ( International Association of TESOL Qualifying Institutions).   


Admission Requirements

·      Be a competent speaker of English;

·      Have obtained at least 5 credits in GCE 'O' Level with a credit in GCE 'O' Level  English as a First Language or;

·      Have a strong interest in teaching children and teenager

Course Assessment  

This is an assignment-based course. The assignments are varied, challenging and designed to allow the student to explore the various aspects of teaching young learners. You have 1 year from registration to submit all assigments for assessment.
